FE Providers

Learning at Work

Colleges and private training providers are being closely scrutinised on all aspects of their delivery – it is paramount that several key benchmarks are met to ensure the continuation of revenue streams.

Learning Curve Group provides a comprehensive package of services to further education providers, to help them achieve this. These include:

High-quality subcontracted delivery

In 12/13 Learning Curve was the largest subcontract provider in the sector. Last year we helped over 50,000 learners achieve a nationally recognised qualification with success rates of 93% across our college contracts. As a direct SFA and EFA contract holder, we were inspected by Ofsted in March 2014, gaining outstanding grades for health and social care and public services provision, as well as for outcomes for learners. Employer engagement

We have already referred over 23,000 learners to our partner provides this academic year. Our Leeds-based call centre can offer support with learner find, employer engagement, learner surveys and destination and progression tracking. Learning materials

Since August 2011 over 200,000 learners have used our NCFE approved, high-quality learning materials. Covering a range of subjects, they are ideal for adult learners on ASB funded activity. We currently supply over 100 FE providers with these materials and inspectors noted during Learning Curve's Ofsted visit that these 'very high-quality resources ensure that learners make good progress'. This reflects the findings from our recent client survey which showed that 96% of providers who use our materials achieved higher success rates in 12/13 compared to the national benchmark.

These qualifications are fundable through the Adult Skills Budget and include:

These courses can be used as either standalone tech certs or, in some instances, as part of an apprenticeship framework (which may help with SASE GLH). Within the price of the materials we also supply:

  • Funding and planning guidance
  • Training courses for delivery staff
  • Tutor marking guides
  • Template paperwork sets

Online learning and assessment content for all of our materials

In March 2012 we launched the online assessment portal, e-Assessor. It is free of charge to all centres purchasing our learning materials and has been used by over 20,000 learners. We believe it is the leading product in the market and has a vast array of features to enable quick and efficient delivery and tracking of students. We are now delighted to have the ability to add our high-quality learning content to e-Assessor, so learners can complete their courses entirely online. Online study programme platform

Our online study programme portal, Learning@College, has been developed in partnership with Weston College this academic year. The college successfully achieved a Grade 1 at its Ofsted inspection in December, and feedback was very positive about its investment in the virtual learning environment. Indeed, Dr Paul Phillips, Weston College Principal and CEO, fed back that Learning@College was an "integral component in devising an interesting, diverse and relevant learning pathway for the college students and helped demonstrate to Inspectors the value of offering this type of provision. They were impressed with how we had utilized the online content to develop high-quality teaching and learning." In addition to this, the platform can support colleges to meet the FELTAG recommendations for 10% of learning to take place online in 14/15.
